Review: 2010 Hyosung GT650R and 2010 Suzuki SV650S
862010 Hyosung GT650R
During the 60’s the US had an invasion of Japanese motorcycles and they still hold our attention with their new bikes each year. The new kid on the block is a Korean company Hyosung and they have introduced their new street bikes to the rest of the world. Stepping out into the market is their GT650 with its sleek look very reminiscent of the Suzuki SV650 which I will also write about in this hub. The GT650R with its 64 horsepower and 42.3 lb. ft. of torque offers decent acceleration. It offers a six speed transmission and weighing in a 473 is a contender for those riders looking for a light weight motorcycle. Though some of the feedback is that this motorcycle lacks proper suspension when handling bumps and the dual-piston front brakes lack in stopping power. The upside to owning this bike is its price tag and two year warranty. This motorcycle is not for everyone and as always one must do their research before buying. This bike looks sharp and may be ideal for a rider that needs to save a few extra bucks when purchasing a new motorcycle.

Compared to its counterpart the Suzuki SV650 which cost about $7500 the Hyosung cost about $6000 and this may allow you to put some aftermarket accessories to give this motorcycle the ride you are looking for. Though you would have to make sure this does not void the two year warranty which is a desirable aspect of the GT650R. The lure for someone looking to buy a bike may choose this new motorcycle over a used bike for the two year warranty.

2010 Suzuki SV650
2010 SV650
Here is the scoop on the SV650 series by Suzuki. This motorcycle offers up a V-twin sport bike that not only looks good but sounds good too. There are two versions of this bike and they both offer any rider the goods they are looking for in a motorcycle. Both have nice riding positions and offer up a nice instrument cluster, including an analog tachometer positioned about a digital LCD speedometer. There is much fun to be had wrapped up in this package of a motorcycle. One can not go wrong in purchasing this motorcycle and would look good in any one's garage.

Every rider has their own preference and many times what we buy is governed by what we can afford. Both of these motorcycles come with a two year warranty which is nice to have in case you have issues with one of these bikes. One is more affordable than the other but I know the resale on the Suzuki will be better. No one can tell you what you should buy but if you can afford it the Suzuki it would be an excellent choice. The Hyosung is a very sharp looking motorcycle, its affordable and would make a good bike to own. What this all boils down to is do what makes you happy since that is what riding is all about.
Happy riding and keep the rubber side down.

I bought a new 0 miles 2007 hyosung 650R on ebay for $3000. last January. I knew nothing of this Korean born sportbike. Iv'e been a rider since I was 11 I am 51 now and have owned a lot of bikes in that time. from dirt to very fast sport bikes. This Hyosung suprised me. It is one of the most comfortable and stable feeling bikes I have ever driven. I put on a FMF titanium racing muffler and rejeted the carbs. This bike will keep up with and beat any other bike in its class. the V twin sound is very good for a 650 and all you doubters until you own one, You don't know enough of the history of this great bike and motor. Look up Fisher sportbikes the only current American made sportbike Manufacture left. Check out the motor he picked for his raceready 650 v twin sportbike.
I'v had an 07 GT250R for a couple months now. Bought it 2nd hand with 2000km on the clock. Its been an awesome bike to learn on! I haven't had a single problem with it. Starts perfectly in all weather. goes like a dream. took it up to 173km/h... on a downhill...lol
I own and ride a hyo gt650r efi which is simply the best midle weight motorcycle I have owned, it is miles better than the sv suzuki except in the front brakes but the finish is way better than the suzuki, incidently the sv engine is made by Hyosung as are a lot of other suzuki and kawasaki engines and have been for many years.
Which from my experiance is a small handfull off people lol, usually people who are looking for a cheaper bike don't want to pay for the matainence work to be carried out and don't like it when they get there bill for there rather expensive and awkard fix on there bike. But having said that i can see it being a good bike if looked after just were i am (Lancashire) i don't offten see a tidy bike at all lol
hyosung are probly one of the worst bikes iv'e ever had to work on to be honest they are made of cheese as the sv650 is a much better built machine and will last much longer also won't need nowere near as much attention as the hyosung
I have an '08 model..quite a decent bike,nothing much to complain about.
Very satisfying as a beginer's sportbike.
The FI version should give more grunge.
Wow this is incredible, thanks for the information.
this is some exotic stuff!!
Honestly, I have never even heard of the Hyosung motorcycle brand before but looking at the engine right now, it absolutely strikes me as the ninja type of motorcyle. Just like what Vanilla Ice rode in his infamous movie but only this one is way much cooler.
Hyosung, omg, and I am riding a baby honda...
I am a passionate lover of bikes and "2010 Hyosung GT650R" has gained position in my Top 10 Bikes list. What a wonderful bike. Great hub. Liked your other hubs too. Joining your fanclub and would like to invite you to join mine. :)
I'm Korean and it's first time hearing for me too. I would like to see some performance numbers.
I had no idea there was such a thing as a Hyosung. I'll be researching this myself for an off Hubpages site on motorcycles I own. Thanks for the info!
Wanted to have those two bikes. Thanks. Great hub
I'm not generally a motorbike head, but the "2010 Hyosung GT650R" really caught my eye. Just wanted to say good comparison in the hub between the two bikes.. :)
Thanks for this comparison. I've liked the SV's for a while, and when the Hyosung came out, I thought it looked nice, but I hadn't heard much about them. Sounds like they are a pretty decent machine for the money!
